The purpose of the museum staff participation in this conference is to popularize the activities of the “ALZHIR” museum, preserve the memory of the tragic days and events of the 30-50s of the XX century, exchange experience, and develop further cooperation.
During the conference, museum staff organized the presentation of the exhibition “The memory of them is alive ...” and the documentary film “Fierce Cold of ALZHIR”. This exhibition lasted until October 30 of this year. In memory of the collaboration of Marlene Laruelle, the author’s editions “Kazakhstan in the making”, “Olo patterns nev order”, “Kazakhstan Nation - Branding economic trials and cultural changes” were transferred to the museum fund. The museum’s memorial complex “ALZHIR” handed over the museum’s editions: “Kazakhstan unites us”, the two-volume “Alash” - “ALZHIR”, the catalog collection of the museum fund, collections of memoirs of prisoners of “ALZHIR” and their children “ALZHIR”. Also the books “Like a terrible dream”, Descendants remember”, as well as the collection of memoirs of the forum of historians of the countries of the Commonwealth “ From History to the Present”, published by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in 2010 as part of the International Project “ Remembrance for the Future”.
At the same time, under the leadership of the head of the international archival programs of the Holocaust Memorial Museum Vadim Altskan, a round table was organized within the walls of this museum by the staff of the “ALZHIR” memorial with the participation of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United States Kazykhanov Yerzhan Khoseevich, representatives of the Museum of the Jewish People and representatives of the Congress of Jews , presentation of the exhibition Museum “ALZHIR” - a unique historical monument of past years” and documentary film “Fierce Cold of ALZHIR", dedicated to the memory of Jewish prisoners "ALZHIR". In memory of the collaboration of the Museum of the Jewish People, the books of the “Hidden History of the Kovno Ghetto”, “Holocaust and Genocide Studies” (2006), “Holocaust and Genocide Studies” (2009), “Holocaust and Genocide Studies” (2013). The museum memorial complex “ALZHIR” donated to the museum’s fund the Jewish people: “Kazakhstan unites us”, the two-volume “Alash” - “ALZHIR”, the catalog collection of the museum fund, collections of memoirs of prisoners of “ALZHIR” and their children “ALZHIR”.
