On March 14, the ALZHIR Museum and Memorial Complex, together with the “Zhastar” Youth Resource Center of the Tselinograd district and the Vocational College of Astana, organized the “Nauryz - zhyl Basy” event dedicated to the celebration of Nauryz Meiramy as part of the nationwide decade of Nauryznama. The event began with a demonstration of the national Kazakh custom – “Korisu”, in which the staff of the museum, the youth resource center "Zhastar" of the Tselinograd district, teachers and students of the vocational college of Astana greeted each other, wishing well and showing deep respect for their elders. The museum staff also performed "Shashu" from ancient Kazakh rituals, symbolizing grace and abundance. At the celebration of Nauryz, teachers of the college of Turebek Nygmetuly and Tolganai Aitymbetkyzy performed folk songs, orphaned students and children left without parental care participated in sports games such as "Bes assik", "Langi", "Zhaiau tartys".
