During the business trip, museum director Tergembaev Samat Ilyasovich and museum specialist Raisa Ramazanovna Zhaksybaeva met with descendants of “ALZHIR” prisoners - daughter and granddaughter of Elena Sokolova-Kandareli – Tina Kandareli and Nino Kordzakhiya; the son and granddaughter of Hobua, Maria Levanovna - Levan Pimenovich and Tiniko Hobua; the granddaughter of Chkheidze-Khocholava Praskovia - Maya Papava; Kira Andronnikashvili’s nephews Merab and Kira, named after her aunt; the son of Margarita Kverenchkhiladze - Revaz Kverenchkhiladze. A meeting was also held with the Chairman of the Tbilisi Memorial - Guram Soselia, the Director General of the National Museum of Tbilisi- David Lordkipanidze, the head of the Laboratory for Researching the Soviet Past of Georgia- Irakli Khvadagiani and others. The museum staff "ALZHIR" organized an event, which Zhaksybaeva Raisa presented an exhibition accompanied by slides on the theme "Roads that did not choose”. At the same time, the presentation of the documentary film "Fierce Cold of ALZHIR", the clip "1937. Early withered flowers", editions of the museum "Kazakhstan unites us", "ALZHIR". “Like a bad dream”, "Descendants Remember". During the event, the descendants of ALZHIR prisoners - Revaz Kverenchkhiladze, Kira Andronnikashvili, Tina Kandareli and others made speeches. Merab Andronnikashvili performed a song about love to the capital of Kazakhstan “Stars of Astana”, which he wrote in 2010 after visiting Astana in 2008 and the museum "ALZHIR". In their speeches, they expressed sincere gratitude to the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan-Elbasy for their assistance in organizing an event aimed at preserving and perpetuating the memory of their repressed parents. The event was attended by about 60 people. In memory of the museum, guests were presented with collections of memoirs of “ALZHIR” prisoners and their children, “Descendants Remember”. The descendants of the “ALZHIR” prisoners were presented with scarves with Kazakh ornaments, skullcaps, treated with Kazakhstan sweets and a kurt (kazakh national dishes), which saved the lives of many “ALZHIR” prisoners. PF “Amanat - “ALZHIR” and the Museum and Memorial Complex “ALZHIR” express their gratitude to the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan-Elbasy for assisting in the organization of a research expedition in Tbilisi, during which about 100 materials were collected, such as genuine photographs, letters, archival documents, books, material items that once belonged to the prisoners of “ALZHIR”.
