On August 27, 2021, the “ALZHIR” Museum and Memorial Complex visited by the granddaughter of the First President of the Republic of South Africa, Nobel Prize Laureate Nelson Mandela - Ndilek Mandela, who came to Kazakhstan on a working visit at the invitation of the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation. Deputy Director Samat Ilyasovich Tergembaev greeted the guest with a welcoming speech. For Ndileki Mandela, an excursion in English was held in the halls "Alash", "ALZHIR", a documentary film "Fierce cold of "ALZHIR" was shown, and collections of memories of prisoners of "ALZHIR" and their descendants
“Alash – ALZHIR” were presented in memory of the museum and “Descendants Remember ”, published on the 10th anniversary of the museum and the 80th anniversary of the beginning of mass political repressions.
At the end of the meeting, Ndileka Mandela thanked the museum staff for the warm welcome, informative excursion, wrote sincere wishes in the museum's guest book and presented a souvenir in memory of her visit.
